About Me
Isabelle (Izzy) Huynh
I have always been the type of person to love and care for others, but it definitely showed when it came to animals.
Growing up, I always took in strays or attempted to rescue any wildlife that I found in my backyard or even off the public streets. I just had such a soft spot for any type of animal…no matter the size or age of them.
When it came to education, I originally wanted to earn a biology degree from the University of Houston, but then transferred to Houston Community College in 2012 due to finances. I fortunately earned my certificate in Veterinary Paramedic in 2013 in hopes that I could work at an animal hospital or in the animal industry with my certificate, then allowing me to go back to a 4-year college to earn my bachelors degree. However, plans changed when I was offered to work full time at an animal hospital in 2014. From starting off as a kennel technician to slowly gaining more veterinary assisting and technical skills, I also took on “pet sitting jobs” as a side hustle. I constantly bounced between hospital shifts to pet sitting gigs, that I rarely had time to eat or sleep and ended up having major burnout. I eventually came to the realization that I needed to have a better work-life balance, but also giving me the opportunity to still care for and love on animals. On May 2021, I made the frightening, yet exciting decision to quit working in veterinary medicine and switched to pet sitting full-time. From that point on, I have not looked back on that major change and lifestyle, and can 100% say that this is the best decision ever.
